COVID-19 Response

2020 Rochester Vegfest is under the status of “Postponed” due to concerns around the Coronavirus situation. Although we are saddened by this postponement, we know it is the right thing to do, and we appreciate your understanding.

Don’t lose hope! Stay tuned to see what we have planned to keep the Vegfest spirit alive! Follow us on instagram and twitter, and like our facebook page!

Welcome to Teeminder, bringing their organic cotton apparel to VegFest!

Teeminder tells us “We design and sell eco-designer wear (T-shirts, tanks, tops, dresses, scarfs) made with certified 100% Organic Fair Trade Cotton. So yes, they are made Ethically. We do our designing in-house and our screen printing is done using water-based eco-friendly inks. We support the health and livelihood of organic cotton farmers and the garment workers in the farms and garment factories; especially in developing countries. We say NO to GMOs and pesticides seeping into our skin through our pores. We promote sustainable farming practices that produce less greenhouse gas emissions and work to combat climate change. Our work is influenced by our yoga/vegan lifestyle and our brand is specifically geared towards supporting sustainable manufacturing & social responsibility.”

Vegan Billboards!

Animal Rights Rochester will be posting two billboards around Rochester from May 6th to June 2nd!  One will be on a very high traffic area on the inner loop, and the other is TBA.  Both will resemble the image here.

Thank you to JP for providing the image (and reworking it for the billboard layout), and for taking the initiative on this project.  Thank you to Jade at Lamar, the billboard company, for working with us to get some great locations.

The funds for this mostly came from fundraisers we held around the time of our first billboard, so thank you to people who attended ARRoc’s 2016 Holiday Dinner, and a Red Fern fundraiser in 2017.  We were holding onto the funds, waiting for a good billboard location to be offered to us.  The funds we had raised are short about $300, so if you would like to contribute to these billboards (or future ones), you can do so at our Donation page – you can leave a line in the memo to earmark them for billboards.

“Healthy living inside and out!” Roc VegFest is proud to have Arbonne join our amazing list of exhibitors at RocVegFest 2018. Arbonne products include skin care, nutrition, make up, and more. Be sure to check them out!

What the Health 3/17

Rochester VegFest is sponsoring a free screening of What the Health on March 17th at 7 pm at Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 111 N. Chestnut Street, Rochester, NY 14604.

What the Health  exposes the collusion and corruption in government and big business that is costing us trillions of healthcare dollars, and keeping us sick.

What The Health is a surprising, and at times hilarious, investigative documentary that will be an eye-opener for everyone concerned about our nation’s health and how big business influences it.

Dr. Milton Mills will hold a Q&A after the film, and local organizations will be on hand before and after the program to offer information on how to move forward with a vegan diet!

Animal Rights Rochester is introducing an exciting new free program to help support potential vegans.  The Vegan Living Program brings people interested in going vegan together with an experienced vegan coach for a five week program that meets at Rochester Vegan Community Center.

Would you like support to go vegan, or do you know someone else who might?  We are currently accepting Pledge applications for our first session.

If you’ve been vegan for a year, would you like to be a Coach?  Or would you like to volunteer at the meetings or some other way?  Do you know someone who would like to be a vegan Pledge?  Would you like to donate to help support this free program, and send someone to vegan camp?

Details on the program and the upcoming session are here.  Thank you for your support!
