We’re pumped that RIT’s new Vegan Club is coming to VegFest this year!
They meet bi-weekly to discuss vegan/sustainably minded events in the RIT and Rochester communities, tips on being vegan or how to go vegan, recipes, and other topics relating to animal rights, health, and the environment.
SARO is coming to VegFest! They’re student-run, based at Syracuse University, and work to educate the public on issues related to animals that fall victim to the farming, fashion, research, and entertainment industries.
We’re so happy they’re attending – come on out and meet them!
SAVVY, University of Rochester’s Student Association of Vegetarian and Vegan Youth, is coming to Rochester VegFest!
SAVVY was founded to help increase awareness, and provide support for vegetarians, vegans, and anyone who is interested in learning about how our dietary and lifestyle choices affect us and our environment. Using vegetarianism as an educational tool, SAVVY provides the encouragement and resources necessary to enable everyone to take an active role in making society ever better.
They sponsor educational events, host weekly meetings, make restaurant trips, cook together at vegetarian potlucks, and work with dining services to increase the availability and quality of vegetarian and vegan options on campus. Some of them enjoy activism while others are content in promoting a compassionate lifestyle by just being an example to their peers. Any level of involvement is welcome.
