Ah, it’s that happy time of year when we get to express our gratitude to everyone who helped make Rochester VegFest possible. Here you see the large community that comes together to pull off this tremendous feat. ♥
We want to start with big thank-you’s to Kim for being our treasurer and RAVS rep again, as well as staffing the VegFest booth all day, and to Darren for continuing to be our carpenter, welder, and all-around go-getter. Thank you to Beth for publicizing VegFest in print media. Thank you to Bob F for coordinating our volunteers – this is a big complicated job!
Thanks to our sponsor Thrive Magazine for sending us 150 beautiful magazines to distribute! 100 will go in our SWAG bags and 50 will go to our volunteers. So show up very early with your $3 (or more) entry donation, or better yet, volunteer today!
Another successful VegFest, thanks to the many, many people who donated their valuable time!
We want to give big thank-you’s to Kim for being our treasurer and RAVS rep again, Darren for continuing to be our carpenter, welder, and all-around go-getter, and Jessica for jumping in with both feet to be our donor coordinator and drive-around-towner. In addition to taking on those big jobs, they took on numerous small jobs that needed to be done. “I can do that!” All three also helped stuff the SWAG bags, helped at the Friday dinner and worked tirelessly from dawn to dusk at VegFest.
We are getting closer to Roc VegFest! And…we need your help! Lots of slots are available, pick one or two (just make sure they don’t overlap!) And really – who wouldn’t want a great VegFest t-shirt!
We have our first in-kind sponsor for 2018! We’re so happy that Zevia has offered to donate 10 cases of pop to the festival!
Zevia makes a variety of all-natural drinks.
So many people came together to make VegFest a success!
We want to give a big thank-you to Kim for being our treasurer and RAVS rep, Leanne for being our designer, artist, and webmaster, and Darren for being our carpenter and all-around go-getter. In addition to taking on those big jobs, they took on numerous small jobs that needed to be done. All three also worked hard at Friday’s event and from dawn to dusk at VegFest.
Our Dinner and a Movie event Friday night was a huge success! Fifty-five people came out for Greek spreads and bread dip (thanks for the donation, Voula!), Buddha Bowls from Red Fern, and cupcakes from Happy Cakes, followed by a showing of Speciesism: The Movie, and then a talk by its director Mark Devries. Thank you to everyone who attended, everyone who bid in the silent auction, and to the item donors. Thank you to Cam F. Awesome for MC-ing and Mark Devries for bringing his film and speaking. We were glad other VegFest speakers Mike Stura, Kerry Graff, Ted Barnett, and Jo-Anne MacArthur could attend.
Thank you to Jack & Meg for donating two tickets. Thank you to organizers and everyone who helped out or brought stuff either to use, eat, or donate: Mary, Bubbie, Deb, Kim, Darren, Mike, Leanne, Robyn, Varun, Andy, Michael, Rosemary, and Ted. People helped in so many big and little ways I can’t possibly list everything everyone did.
I want to thank Wegmans again for the $200 gift card they donated. We used it for food for volunteers. Thank you to Mary for picking it up and making vegan cheese spread and grilled peppers and onions (in her spare time!), which my daughter and I made into wraps and delivered to hungry volunteers at their posts. I hope I found everyone!
